WhatsApp users to be able to listen to voice notes in the background



WhatsApp wants to make its voice note feature more versatile.


In April of last year, the highly handy feature of adjusting the playback speed of voice notes was implemented.


WhatsApp added a new feature last month that allows users to 'preview' an audio note before sending it. We use the term "preview" to signify that you can listen to it before sending it.


The feature deployment will continue until 2022.


Users of WhatsApp will soon be able to listen to voice notes in the background, allowing them to switch chats without interrupting a voice note in progress.


It's unclear whether you can switch apps while a voice note is still playing, but it's unlikely.


You won't be able to listen to that other app if you move to another one that demands audio.
